Originally started as a bonfire on the summer solstice in 1986, Larry Harvey and Jerry James met with a few friends on Baker Beach (San Fran) and erected an 8ft wooden man and smaller wooden dog figure then set the two structures alight. Harvey described the inspiration for burning these effigy figures as a spontaneous act of “self expression”.

We’ll keep you updated with all the latest on the heritage and new school labels we stock, as well as general happenings in local art, nights out, and any other nonsense we feel like posting.
