René LACOSTE entered the legend of tennis when he and his team-mates “The Musketeers”, stole the Davis Cup away from the Americans for the first time, in 1927. Not forgetting his 3 French Open victories (1925, 1927 and the ROLAND-GARROS stadium in 1929), his two victories in Great Britain (WIMBLEDON 1925 and 1928) and two U.S. OPEN titles at Forest Hills (1926 and 1927).

Harmony Nicholas, Aaron Schuppan and Sven Kovac all take fantastic photos so Magazine Gallery is hanging some of them on its walls this SALA festival.

To tie the three distinctive styles of these photographers together a theme was needed. As the name hints, the exhibition is about selling stuff. The very professional Sven, Harmony and Aaron have all been paid to create work that sells you someone else’s idea – now they want to sell you something of their own.

So its pretty safe to say we spend a good deal of time surfing this wonderful thing called the internet. In our travels we come across numerous expressions in the world of so called ‘fashion’, some of it good, some bad and some, well, just shit. Up-and-coming local photographer Jonathan van der Knaap has his first solo exhibition at Dragonfly Bar this Wednesday night. The show is a selection of street images taken during his 3 year stay in Tokyo and is a photographic exploration of life and time on the streets of Tokyo.

Get along to Dragonfly (193 Victoria Square, Adelaide) from 6pm Wednesday 21st July and support local creative talent!
